I'm excited to share with you how to launch an expert Q&A membership, a low-ticket membership model that has successfully funded my business for over three years.
This approach solves two significant problems for business owners:
(1) The need to create content to attract customers, instead - get paid upfront for creating content.
(2) Business overheads and expenses required to start a business, instead - get these covered so you aren't doing this out of pocket.
If that's of interest to you, this blog is for you!
Let's dive in!
Most business owners find themselves on the content hamster wheel, constantly creating Instagram reels, carousel posts, and various other content in the hopes of attracting customers.
This endless cycle can be exhausting and time-consuming.
But with an expert Q&A membership, you can turn this problem on its head.
Instead of creating content in hopes of getting customers, you get paid to create content directly from your customers' questions.
Starting a business often comes with unexpected overheads like domain names, professional email addresses, funnel software, email software, hiring VAs, and joining coaching programs.
These costs can creep up and overwhelm new entrepreneurs.
An expert Q&A membership helps you generate recurring revenue to cover these costs, reducing financial stress.
An expert Q&A membership is a subscription service where members pay to ask you questions and you provide a detailed answer in a timely manner.
When I launched my membership in April 2021, over 100 people signed up.
It was a tech support membership.
Members could email me with their tech support questions, and I would respond within 24 hours with a video or support document.
This model not only provided immediate value to my members but also created a bank of content for my YouTube channel.
Here's how it works:
1. Receive a Question:
A member emails a question, e.g., "How do I change the background color of my website?"
2. Create a Tutorial:
I create a video tutorial answering the question in a way that is generic to the question.
❌ I don't say, "Hey James, thanks for your question..."
✅ Instead, I say, "In today's video I'm gonna answer [insert question]."
Then I answer in a video.
And I wrap up the video saying something like, "By the way, this question came from someone in my [name of membership], if you'd like to check it out too, check the link in the description. Otherwise, if you're new here, please subscribe and comment if this was helpful."
Something like that.
3. Send the Solution:
I send the video directly to the member.
Even before it goes up on YouTube.
They get it ASAP.
4. Repurpose the Content:
I save the content for future editing and upload it to my YouTube channel when ready.
Note that you don't have to do it in a video format.
You can do audio, text-based replies, etc.
Whatever works for you.
In my case, since it was tech support related, sharing my screen to answer questions and showing my members the answer was much more practical.
In terms of pricing, keep in mind that as a starting point, you aren't trying to make a ton of money.
You're simply trying to cover your business expenses.
Software
Coaches and strategy help
Tech support
Virtual assistant/s

You simply need to crunch your numbers.
(I have a template for this you can get it as part of my launch toolkit.)
For example, let's say you want to create a membership with a $97/month.
You can promote it with a founding member discount that people can sign up at $27/month and keep that price for as long as you remain a member.
If you get 30 members at $27 each, that's $810 per month.
This revenue can cover various business costs, freeing you from funding your business out of pocket.
To boost your revenue, consider offering a one-on-one session as an order bump.
For instance, a $99 one-on-one session can significantly increase your upfront revenue.
When I launched my membership, 60+ people took the $99 offer, adding an additional $5,940 to my revenue.
And it is not just about the revenue...
If someone joins your membership, you are hoping they remain a membership for a long time.
That's the premise of a membership business.
Consider 2 scenarios:
Someone joins your membership and gets the general deliverable promised like everyone else.
Or
Someone joins the membership and gets the value of the membership, but ALSO speaks with you on Zoom, gets personal attention and feedback, and you build strong personal relationship with them.
Which of these do you think will have a better chance to keep a member for longer?
That's why 1-on-1 is so powerful, not just for the instant revenue boost, but the additional monthly revenue you will get because you invested in that personal relationship.
By consistently creating content based on member questions, you build a valuable content library.
This library not only helps current members but also attracts new ones through search engines and social media.
Over time, your content will draw organic traffic, leading to more memberships and revenue.
Years into my membership business, and I have 100s of videos on my YouTube channel.
These not only pay me through YouTube ad revenue, but also builds trust with new potential customers who end up signing up to my membership and buying from my affiliate links.
Launching an expert Q&A membership offers a sustainable way to fund your business operations and build a robust content library.
It's a win-win: you get paid to create content while solving your members' problems.
If you're an expert in your field, consider this low-ticket membership model to grow your business and generate recurring revenue.
If you want additional help with making this happen, I've created a step-by-step roadmap and a starter kit to make this happen.
This is available for a one-time fee of $9.
Just ONE member...
And you'll make your money's worth.
Do you think if you take action you can get more than 1 member?
I hope so.
Grab my launch toolkit while the price is still this low.
